5 Dental Hygiene Habits for Maintaining Strong and Healthy Teeth

Just make sure that if you use manual toothbrush that you get one every 12 weeks or if it’s an electric one that you swap out the head every 2-3 months. That way, you can be certain that you’re getting your teeth just as clean as possible.
Eat right. Did you know that there are certain kinds of foods that you can eat that will promote strong dental health? Some of those foods include cheese, raisins, apples, celery and onions. As it relates to what you drink, it’s also important to follow up a cup of coffee or glass of wine with some water. That will help to keep stains from setting into your enamel.
Chew some sugarless gum. The more saliva that is in your mouth, the more you will be able to keep bacteria from infecting your mouth. So, be sure to keep some sugarless gum in your purse or coat pocket. It’s a tasty way to take care of your teeth and gums.
See your dentist on a regular basis. Even if you make sure to eat a well-balanced diet, brush and floss your teeth and to use a good toothbrush, it’s still going to be important that you see your dentist on an annual basis. That’s because one, they can give you a professional cleaning and two, they have the equipment to check your teeth and gums to insure that you don’t have any cavities or signs of gum disease.
